The two syllables of the name \u201cAdam\u201d, in other words, provide the basic beat by which the\u00a0<em>talanton<\/em>\u00a0is rhythmically and repeatedly struck: \u201cA-dam, A-dam, A-dam.\u201d By striking the\u00a0<em>talanton<\/em>\u00a0in this way, the sacristan is calling Adam home from his long exile.
