History

March 6th 1960 is very important date for Serbs in Calgary. On that day one group of God-fearing Serbian women gathered and brought to life first “Kolo srpskih sestara” in Calgary named “Sveti Sava”. At that time members were: Nada Vukanovic, Marija Vasic, Branislava Decanski, Nada Dabic, Dragica Petrigo, Kaja Burljajeva, Lola Radulj, Vida Putnik, Vera Radusin, Ljiljana Zaric, Milica Pop, Roza jurisic, Radmila Zaric, Ruza Radulj, Barica Jovanovic, Gladis Andjelic, Ana Putnik, Desanka Smirnov and Budimirka Micin. In the following period “Kolo srpskih sestara” changed its name few times.
Finally in 1985 it was named “Mala Gospojina”. The name still stands and it is celebrated.
